Following the success of Cupcake Camp Paris last summer, the event returns to the City of Light to recapture the hearts and stomachs of its growing legion of fans. Cupcake fans of all ages, Parisians, expats, and bakers of all levels will gather at Le Comptoir Général, along the Canal St-Martin for the second annual Cupcake Camp Paris. Attendees will taste, share, and judge (for those who want to participate in the contests) their home-made cupcakes in a friendly and festive atmosphere. There will also be live music and a raffle with an amazing variety of prizes.
The idea behind Cupcake Camp is to bring together people who are passionate about cupcakes in a fun community celebration. Attendees are invited to bring their own cupcakes to share with the crowd….or not. Baking is not obligatory so bring them if you like to bake, otherwise just bring your appetite!
Just like last year, Cupcake Camp Paris II will be a purely non-profit event with a fund-raising component. Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the French chapter of Make a Wish Foundation, an association which helps fulfill the wishes of gravely ill children.
Created in California by Ariel Waldman, Cupcake Camp is a growing trend with local events staged all over the globe. Of course, Cupcake Camp is a celebration of the cupcake, a beloved childhood dessert in the US and UK though a relative newcomer on the Paris pastry scene. There are already several cupcake bakeries in the French capital and it’s become clear that Parisians are falling for the dessert – and they’re not just for kids!
