All the major performance venues, including Bercy, La Cigale, l’Olympia, Le Zénith and Stade de France, are closed. Still, there are quite a few exhibitions and events happening, and Richard Nahem, our Eye Prefer Paris guru, has put together a list of everything happening in the French capital throughout the month of August, from cinema to extraordinary exhibitions.
Time to pop your popcorn and go to the car-less drive-in at Parc de la Villette. The annual outdoor movie festival is showing 30 films with the theme of the streets. West Side Story, Bonnie and Clyde, Manhattan, Le Poison Rouge, On the Town, and Les Nuits de la Pleine Lune are some of the films being shown.

Le XVIIIe AU Gout du JourDesigners Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld pour Chanel, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Olivier Theyskens for Rochas, Martin Margiela, Azzedine Alaïa, Alexander McQueen for Givenchy, Yohji Yamamoto, and Thierry Mugler have all been influenced by the 18th century and have expressed their fashion fantasies of the era with a show of 50 costumes along with accessories.
