Story by Sophie DelonIn January, the first bar in Paris dedicated to all things tequila opened in the 8th arrondissement. It was mean to be a temporary “pop-up” bar, but Blitz Bar proved itself so successful, it’s now become a permanent fixture in the French capital.
Located just a few steps from the Champs-Élysées in Paris’ chic Triangle d’Or, the Blitz Bar offers some fifty or so varieties of the famous white alcohol. The brainchild of Rasmus Michau, le king nocturne of Paris, the Blitz Tequila brand is showcased in a space that’s been transformed into a 1920s Berlin cabaret. It attracts a trendy and varied crowd, all of whom gather around the bar to taste the subtle flavor of tequila, including a new cocktail composed of cherry tomatoes and limes.
The Blitz Bar has quickly become one of the trendiest nightspots in the City of Lights, giving Parisians and visitors the opportunity to discover the emblematic drink of those crazy Berlin parties from the 1920s. Legend has it that the celebrities of the time, Mies van der Rohe and Fritz Lang, just couldn’t resist it!

Paris’ only tequila bar?
I’m pretty sure La Perla in the 4e would beg to differ.
We stand corrected … and have done a shot of tequila to atone for our error.
