It’s that time of year again – time for La Chasse aux Trésors de Paris, also known as the Paris Treasure Hunt.
Since 2005, the Paris Treasure Hunt has taken residents and visitors alike on mysterious treks through various arrondissements of the city. Cryptic clues guide participants to hidden gardens and secret passageways, where they interact with Parisian shopkeepers, artists and other residents to find their way to the final destination.
Thanks to English-language materials and maps, everyone has a chance to win prizes that range from an evening at the Secret Cabaret, the famed Paris party that takes place only once a year, to dinners at local restaurants. Of course, the real prize is getting to see parts of Paris that even the residents didn’t know about.
The Paris Treasure Hunt takes place this Saturday, July 3rd, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. So if you’re going to be in Paris this weekend, sign up at www.tresorsdeparis.fr. Bonne chance!
I think the idea of a ‘treasure hunt’ is wonderful. But if we are not in Paris this weekend, how do we get a copy of the hunt for when we visit in August?
The organizers of the event pointed out to Parisien Salon that, because the treasure hunt depends on the participation of retailers and artists, it’s not possible to replicate the trail after the event.
We will be in Paris the first weekend in July and would love to participate in the Paris Treasure Hunt. Will it be held this year on Sat. July 2nd? Where would we be able to sign up for the hunt in English? Thanks so much for any information you might provide us (family of 4).
