Fashionistas in Paris have discovered a relatively new mecca on the rue des Rosiers in the Marais. That’s where global budget fashion group H&M opened a new store at the end of March, launching a new fashion concept combining the meticulous attention to detail of ready-to-wear design with down-to-earth pricing.
COS (Collection of Style) is, like its H&M sister brand, geared to those who want to look fabulous without breaking the bank. But it takes the H&M brand to a more streamlined and classic level. Yes, the clothing is priced slightly higher than H&M, but the quality is made to match.
In fact, the focus is on quality with COS. Their collections (produced by independent suppliers largely around Europe) incorporate natural fabrics like leather, cashmere and brushed cotton. The clientele is also decidedly more sophisticated (i.e., more “mature”) than you’ll typically find at H&M, and the store’s layout and design reflects that. The space is sleek and uncluttered, with plenty of light feeding into the contemporary ambiance.
Unlike H&M, COS is thus far a very limited European brand, with locations only in London, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and now France.
COS is determined to champion design with quality, fit and fashion at the best price. And you’ll find them in Paris at 4, rue des Rosiers.
