A few years ago, a friend in Paris showed me a copy of the a cookbook centered around Nutella. Philippe Conticini was the pastry chef who put together this wonderful collection of recipes, so when I heard he opened a new shop on the rue du Bac, my mouth immediately started watering.La Pâtisserie des Rèves lives up to it’s name—it truly is the dream pastry shop. Parisians simply adore this decidedly different gourmet boutique in one of the most fashionable parts of town, and you will too. Try the Paris-Brest with its homemade praline. It’s to die for. So is the fresh-from-the-oven Saint-Honoré (a yummy apple crisp). All of Conticini’s delightful creations are on display at the ultra-modern center table, artfully placed under glass domes. Your order will be delivered to you in a tres chic pink box with a real cloth serviette.
